Mission

Fair Trade Wales exists to grow the Fair Trade movement in Wales.

Broad Aims:

1. To increase awareness and engagement around Fair Trade issues in Wales

2. To support a self-sustaining Fair Trade movement in Wales.

3. To enhance the commitment to Fair Trade in Wales of the public, private and third sectors.

This will be achieved by:

i) Extending awareness of fair trade products and engagement with the issues surrounding fair trade to a wider population.
ii) Facilitating active and productive links between county groups and the schools in their areas.
iii) Improving the communication with and between all active promoters of fair trade through facilitating good networking opportunities.
iv) Working collaboratively with the Scottish Fair Trade Forum to ensure that each nation benefits from learning by the other.
v) Working in partnership with the Fairtrade Foundation to maximise the work of each organisation.
vi) Developing plans to ensure that Wales is recognised as an important player within the international fair trade movement.
vii) Supporting and investing in the network of Fairtrade groups.
viii) Attending and organising awareness raising events around Fair Trade.
ix) Campaigning to increase awareness of ‘fairness in trade' issues.
x) Influencing policy at all levels.
